If you're planning to fly into the Washington's San Juans, this web site contains information from local pilots that will give you the information that's not on the charts, to make your visit easier. It is provided by and for the San Juan Pilots Association, to help promote flying safety and enjoyment in the most beautiful corner of America.

Flying over Lopez Island, looking West across Griffin Bay, at San Juan Island. Cattle Pass is at the left.
Flying to the San Juans is one of the great treats in aviation. Most islands have airports that are at about sea level, and many have restaurants and lodging within an easy walk of the tie-downs.
During the summer, the airports can be busy, and the single, shared frequency for all islands can be crowded. The advantage of all airports on one frequency, 128.25, is that (1) We get a good feel of all the traffic in a 25 mile radius, and (2) All the islands' airports are in a 25 mile radius.

Looking East, the Orcas Island Ferry Dock at the lower left, with Mt. Baker in the distance. The ferry in the bottom right corner is turning into Shaw Island.
